The following revisions will be applicable to your covered card:

1. Migration of the existing rewards to ADIB Exceed Rewards

Effective: 15th April 2024

Your existing rewards program will be migrated to ADIB Exceed Rewards. This will involve the following changes:

  1. All your existing reward points will be migrated to the new ADIB Exceed Platform. This conversion will be at the highest redemption available currently. Each 200 points will be migrated as 1 ADIB Exceed Reward point.
    For example:

  5. All other benefits and related terms and conditions of ADIB Exceed Rewards Program​ will apply.

Discontinuation of ADIB selected Covered Cards

Effective: 19th December 2023

Following ADIB Covered Card Types will no longer be sourced from 19th December 2023:

​Update on fast track to Emirates Skywards Gold Tier for ADIB Emirates Skywards Covered Cards*.

Effective: 5th September 2023

  • ADIB Emirates Skywards World Covered Card customers will not be eligible for fast track to Emirates Skywards Gold Tier
  • ADIB Emirates Skywards World Elite Supplementary Covered Card customers will be eligible for fast track to Emirates Skywards Gold Tier subject to following revised criteria:
    • Customer makes Annual Fee payment of AED 4,500 for Supplementary card.
    • Customer spends AED 5,500 on Emirates Airlines to qualify for Emirates Skywards Gold Tier upgrade in addition to that of Principal cardholder spend qualification of AED 5,500 on Emirates Airlines.

* Revision on fast track to Emirates Skywards Gold Tier will come into effect on anniversary date falling on or after 06 December 2022 for all existing ADIB Emirates Skywards Covered Cards customers.

Please note:

  1. Covered Card Products not mentioned in the above table are currently out of scope for these changes.
  2. For international transactions outside EEA, the rewards will remain without any change for all Covered Card products.
  3. These changes apply to customers who have received notification from the Bank and to customers who applied for a Covered Card post 01st June 2023.

2. Revision in the Terms and Conditions for Covered Cards

5.11 The Cardholder shall not use the Card or allow any third party to use the Card in a Transaction prohibited by Shari’a as determined by the Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee of the Bank. All transactions involving Merchants which the Bank is aware conduct a business prohibited by Shari’a, including but not limited to, alcohol, pork products, gambling, tobacco, casinos, bars, nightclubs, merchants selling and/or providing pornography related products and/or services will be declined. In case of such use, the Bank reserves the right forthwith without notice and without liability to any Cardholder to cancel the Card and the Cardholder shall immediately following such cancellation pay all outstanding amounts in respect of such cancelled Card to the Bank.5.11 The Cardholder shall not use the Card or allow any third party to use the Card in a Transaction prohibited by Shari’a as determined by the Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee of the Bank. Mastercard Travel Pass will replace LoungeKey for airport lounge access on eligible ADIB Mastercard covered cards

Effective: 1st April 2023

ADIB Mastercard covered cardholders eligible for airport lounge access benefits, will need to download the Mastercard Travel Pass app, register ADIB MasterCard and generate QR code to access airport lounge. Mastercard will discontinue LoungeKey program on 31 March 2023. Physical ADIB Mastercard will not be accepted, and valid airport lounges can be accessed with eligible ADIB Mastercard via Mastercard Travel Pass app (live on iOS and Android app stores).

  • 2 V​alet Parking visits per month (standard parking only) will be offered for Edge/Diamond Infinite, Booking.com Signature and Dana Mastercard Covered Cards.
  • Valet Parking benefit will not be offered on ADIB Etisalat Platinum, ADIB Smiles Platinum, ADIB Cashback Platinum and ADIB Rotana Covered Cards.

Update in earning of Reward Points for ADIB Visa Infinite Covered Cards (Edge and Diamond)

31st of March 2021

Effective 31 May 2021, ADIB Edge Visa Infinite and ADIB Diamond Visa Infinite Covered Card customers will be awarded 0.25 reward points for every AED 1 spend at specific merchants*. No change to earning reward points on other retail spends, i.e. 2.5 reward points for every AED 1 spend.

Covered Card Takaful

Dear Cover Cardholders enrolled in ADIB Covered Card Takaful Scheme since 1st January 2015 onwards, we hereby inform you that your Takaful coverage on you ADIB Covered Card is now provided by Dubai Islamic Insurance & Reinsurance Company (AMAN) instead of Abu Dhabi National Takaful Company (TAKAFUL) with effect from 1st October 2017. Please note that there will not be any change in your Monthly Contribution Amount or your Takaful coverage & benefits.

Transferring customers

If you are transferring to ADIB, we recently sent you an email/letter outlining some key information regarding your card/account. Please find below additional information relevant to your account transfer:

  • ​SERCO BPO Services FZ has been appointed by ADIB to act as an agent on your behalf in order to simplify the documentation execution and issuance process for your ADIB card/account.
  • If you have any questions regarding your transfer or appointment of the third party agent please call us on 04-428 6000 and we will ensure a bank official contacts you at a convenient time.
  • Also, you will be receiving your detailed terms and conditions as part of the welcome pack as communicated to you in our recent email or letter.

Please note that ADIB will never request you to send/share sensitive information in any unsecured communications such as email.

Amendment to T&Cs:

Clause 14 of ADIB Covered card terms & conditions to be read as:

  • 14.10.1 In the event of payment default by the Customer, ADIB shall be entitled to open an account at ADIB and present the promissory note or security cheque provided by the Customer together with the card application form.
  • 14.10.2 The security held against the Card Account, such as salary assignment, promissory note, security cheque, deposit, guarantee or any other security shall not be released until forty five (45) business days after the cancellation and full settlement of the Card Limit (if any).
